This interactive component consists of approximately 175 edited found video clips that question and make visible a wide spectrum of uav functionality. These clips include military functions but also include: photography that can be shot beyond what our eyes can see, cinematic equipment, tie-ins and interfaces for smart phones, deliveries, building inspections, geographic surveys, mechanical failures and crashes, interference with air flight patterns, hacking of their GPS systems to take over the control of the uav, etc. Using a simple joystick similar to that used by uav operators, the viewer will be able to change the video clips and make correlations and inferences drawn from the video clip content. The work is installed inside a small enclosure that simulates the ground stations where uav operators watch and target individuals. The enclosure is filled with a desk, wall-mounted monitor, office chair, earphones and a joystick. It is intended to create a sense of isolation and remoteness.
